Fairfax Water’s plans to meet anticipated growth in the Tysons Corner area include the installation of approximately 13,000 linear
feet of 24-inch water transmission main from its Tysons Corner Storage and Pumping Facility on International Drive to Magarity Road. This project will be designed and constructed
in multiple segments, as shown on the graphic below. Fairfax Water has completed the construction of Segment 3 and initiated the design of Segment 5.
The majority of Segment 5 of the water main will be located within the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) right-of-way. Segment 5 extends along northbound
Anderson Road, through the parking lane, from Magarity Road to Chain Bridge Road. During construction, through traffic will be maintained and disruptions will be minimized.
Most work adjacent to residential areas will be performed during normal business hours. When the project is complete, Fairfax Water will grade and seed unpaved areas and
restore roadways impacted by the construction, as required by VDOT.
