The
purpose of this web page is to provide information about the
construction of reliability improvements at Fairfax Water’s
Tyson’s Corner Pump Station. These improvements are designed
to ensure continuity of water utility service to the
surrounding community during local and regional power
outages by generating electricity on-site during
interruptions in the commercial power supply. This project
consists of adding an electric power generator inside the
existing pump station as well as related outside support
equipment.
Fairfax Water’s Tyson’s Corner Pump Station Onsite Power
Generation Project began construction in the Fall of 2009 and is
expected to last for a period of approximately 1-1/2 years.
Construction work is scheduled during normal working hours and
Fairfax Water will be taking steps necessary to minimize noise,
traffic, and other construction impacts to the community.
